RIVA Solutions Welcomes New Hires: Christopher Greeney, David Hernandez, Vaj Ranaviraja, and Alex Stevens
Christopher Greeney, Vice President Strategic Programs is an executive leader with over 25 years of experience managing Federal and Defense IT Modernization, Project Management, Portfolio Management, and Acquisition Support programs. Chris was awarded the Naval Achievement Medal while serving as an active duty U.S. Navy Communications Officer. After an honorable discharge, Chris spent seven years supporting the Department of Navy Chief Information Officer, U.S. Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) and DISA as an application portfolio management and service delivery subject matter expert. Chris hasled several management consulting engagements and strategic growth efforts at ICOR Partners and Octo Consulting Group supporting agencies such as DHS and the American Red Cross. Chris earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and holds a Masters of Science from John Hopkins in Information and Telecommunications Systems. Chris has an active DoD Top Secret Clearance, and ITIL, PMP, and CSM certifications.. Chris is married with 2 children, and enjoys downhill skiing, biking, boating, cooking, music, and art in his free time.
Vajira Ranaviraja, Vice President of Corporate Development has over 17 years of professional experience specializing in business development, market strategy, market research, and product development. He is a subject matter expert in federal market Strategy, business development and acquisition processes. Prior to joining RIVA Solutions he was a Senior Manager for Strategy and Northrop Grumman’s Defense Systems sector; he has also held lead roles at Bloomberg Government and Deltek’s GovWIN (INPUT). Hailing from Sri Lanka, he currently resides in Fairfax, VA. In his spare time he travels extensively, and takes in any local whiskeys.
David Hernandez, Director of Business Development, has over 12 years of experience in market research, thought leadership, and has successfully helped grow businesses across multiple industries during his career. David is extremely active in Govcon organizations such as ACT-IAC and AFCEA. David was awarded ACT-IAC Rookie of the Year in 2019, and is currently serving as Program Chair of Emerging Technologies for the ACT-IAC Community of Interest. He is also an organizer for AFCEA HealthIT days. When David is not attending industry events, he enjoys hiking mountains , dancing salsa with his DC team “DC Casineros” at the Kennedy Center, and cooking his favorite exotic meals.
Alex Stevens, Director of Marketing, has over ten years of marketing and startup experience across both private and public sectors. Prior to joining RIVA Solutions, Alex served as the Head of Marketing at The Clearing. An entrepreneur at heart, Alex co-founded Digital District in 2013, a 501(c)6 organization aimed at fostering innovation and education in the digital sphere. Alex has a Master of Business Administration from George Washington University and a dual Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Business from Boston University. She hopes to one day pursue a doctorate and spend her golden years as an adjunct professor teaching the next generation of entrepreneurs and creative thinkers. In her free time Alex is an avid CrossFitter and Powerlifter. She enjoys cooking, tending to her growing collection of house plants, and taking long walks with her rescue pitbull, Zooey.
