During the month of March, we embark on a journey to honor and celebrate the incredible achievements, contributions, and rich history of women worldwide. This year’s theme, “Women Who Advocate for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion”, shines a light on the courageous women who lead the charge for a fairer, more inclusive future, dismantling bias and discrimination in society and institutions. As we pay homage to these extraordinary women, we are excited to spotlight some of the remarkable women within our RIVA team. Their narratives showcase the profound impact of excellence within our organization, inspiring us all.

Alex Love, VP of Marketing and Communications, a proud new mother draws inspiration from the trailblazing women who came before her, paving the way for working mothers like herself. Alex reflects on the profound strength women exhibit, not only in their public accomplishments but also in their everyday triumphs of personal life. “In today’s society, the roles we juggle have multiplied,” Alex remarked. “Mothers play a pivotal role in nurturing the next generation while also making significant contributions to the economy and workforce.”

This Women’s History Month, Alex pays homage not only to women who shattered barriers but also to those who inspire, nurture, and guide the next generation, both at home and in the workplace. She celebrates the resilience and dedication of working mothers who gracefully balance professional aspirations with the responsibilities of parenthood, exemplifying strength and commitment each day.

Jenny Bonner, Sr. Vice President of Client Delivery, reflects on her unique journey – a trajectory that began in recruiting and evolved into overseeing client delivery, during this Women’s History Month. Throughout her professional endeavors, she has remained steadfast in her commitment to the advancement of individuals, especially women, by empathizing with their needs, cultivating meaningful connections and empowering them to excel.

Jenny expressed that she has immense gratitude for the influential women who paved the way for her, citing personal heroes such as Eleanor Roosevelt and her mother, Katie Sleep. “Leading an all-women team here at RIVA is a significant milestone,” Jenny shares, “as it underscores our shared dedication to breaking barriers and promoting diversity through mentorship, coaching, and servant leadership.” Jenny aspires to continue inspiring and uplifting women everywhere, striving to make a lasting impact in their lives and career.

Calen Weaver, Sr. Technical Recruiter, sheds light on the multitude of inspirational women who have left a lasting impact on her career journey. She finds encouragement in the growing presence of women in leadership roles, higher-paying positions, and groundbreaking opportunities, noting their ability to break gender barriers and pave the way for others. “These women exemplify the boundless potential and opportunities available to all individuals,” Calen emphasizes.

Reflecting on her experiences promoting diversity and equal opportunities, Calen shared her involvement in an Employee Resource Group during her tenure at Microsoft. This group focused on providing support and resources for women in technology while fostering open discussions about evolving challenges they encounter in the workplace.

Calen advises young women aspiring to enter her field to seek opportunities to connect with women in similar roles and carefully assess the company’s leadership landscape to gauge the representation of women in leadership positions.

Together, we pay tribute to the importance of Women’s History Month, recognizing its significance not only throughout March but also as an essential chapter in our shared story. By embracing this month-long celebration, we contribute to crafting a future that is more inclusive and supportive for everyone, championing the achievements and contributions of women in all aspects of society.
