RIVA Solutions, Inc. is advancing the Nuclear Regulatory Commission’s NRC.gov Digital Experience Roadmap using RIVA’s Integrated Digital Experience (iDX) framework solution. This important design initiative aligns directly with the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act (IDEA) and builds on a successful base year in which RIVA performed a complete modernization of the agency’s content management system (CMS) by implementing Drupal 10 and migrating NRC.gov from a costly COTS platform to open-source Drupal hosted in the cloud.
The NRC plays a pivotal role in protecting public health and safety, advancing national security, and ensuring the safe use of civilian nuclear energy technologies and radioactive materials. Its website, NRC.gov, serves as a mission-critical digital communication tool that now utilizes the modern, secure, and FedRAMP-compliant Drupal CMS in the cloud.
In support of NRC’s Digital Experience Roadmap, RIVA will deliver key enhancements to NRC’s digital presence, including:
- NRC.gov website redesign using Human-Centered Design (HCD)
- NRC Design System utilizing the U.S. Web Design System (USWDS)
- Upgrade to Drupal 11
- API integration for greater interoperability
- Consolidation/migration of multiple NRC microsites to Drupal in support of cost savings
Through this work, RIVA applies its expertise in federal agency enterprise Drupal CMS modernization, User Experience (UX) design, content strategy, accessibility, digital analytics, cloud infrastructure, and cybersecurity compliance.
